Sawubona! I am passionate about societal transformation and our role in that as people of faith. That is what led to seminary study at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Zimbabwe in the 1980s, pastorates in Zimbabwe and the US, study and work in NC, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, and Maryland. It has been a delight to serve as a pastor at UBC, Baltimore since 2018. I enjoy running with the Baltimore Pacemakers and refereeing soccer in the city and state.

Hello! I came to UBC as a pastor in the fall of 2019. Since arriving in Baltimore, I have loved the warmth of the UBC fellowship, the passion for justice, spiritual growth, and how this community seeks God in both innovation and tradition. I’m originally from California where I got my M.Div at Fuller Seminary, and I worked as a pastor in Massachusetts before being called to UBC. I’m excited for what God is doing in this church fellowship!

I have been the lead pastor at University Baptist since the spring of 2016. I am passionate about welcoming all people into doing life together with God, especially those who have felt marginalized in any capacity, and I am grateful to be a part of a church that seeks to share the love of Christ beyond its walls. Prior to coming to UBC, I served at Northwest Baptist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and taught various theology classes at Marquette University. Before being called to ministry, I worked as a commercial real estate consultant for Ernst & Young, in Houston, Texas. I am looking forward to seeing the unique ways in which God will continue to guide us at UBC!
Rev. Dr. Tom Harrington - Lead Pastor
I became a member of UBC with my family in the Fall of 2019 and in Winter 2023 was installed as Pastor of Connections. I am thrilled to be in this role at such a diverse, theologically sound, and caring congregation. I grew up in south-central PA and received my undergrad degree from Eastern University. After teaching elementary school for a few years, I felt called to seminary and relocated to southern California where I earned my M.Div from Fuller Seminary. Rev. Alison Raskin - Associate Pastor

I have been involved in church music for as long as I can remember and have been serving as a church organist since I was thirteen years old. My degrees are in church music and organ performance from Shenandoah Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music and in Mortuary Science from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. I am passionate about congregational singing as well as members of the congregation and community participating in the musical life of the church.
