Service Times and Descriptions
Here at University Baptist Church, the weekly service follows the seasons of the Christian Year: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, and Pentecost.
Our new worship service is taking a break for the summer, but will meet at 1:00 p.m. in the Davis Chapel (located on the Charles Street side of the building). It is called the Fusion Worship service because we hope to fuse respect for ancient traditions with the appreciation for creative expressions. Just as there are many different languages in our community, there are different ways of expressing our worship. This service has a more relaxed atmosphere and features a worship team with drums, guitar, bass, and piano.
At 10:45 a.m. every Sunday morning we gather to experience a service designed to relate us personally and directly to God. Our service follows the rich Christian tradition of reading Scripture, singing classical hymns, participating in prayer, listening to beautiful choral anthems and solos, and hearing the word of God proclaimed and explained. The structure and dignity of the traditional service help people to reflect on the meaning of the words of Christ and enter into a growing relationship with God.
